Through Time and Space is a series of works that invite viewers on a transcendental journey through dimensions of memory and imagination. Known for his evocative and richly textured works, Korab combines the tangible with the intangible, exploring the interplay of human experience with the abstract forces that shape it. His artworks constitute a visual dialogue between nature and the human-made world, blurring the boundaries between organic forms and intertwining geometric structures. This fusion reflects Korab's fascination with the interconnectedness of things and serves as a reminder of the symbiotic relationship between humanity and nature.
Time and space are not static concepts but living, breathing entities. The works oscillate between past and future, the end and the infinite, anchoring the viewer in a liminal dimension where the familiar dissolves into the mysterious. Layers of color and dynamic forms weave narratives that defy linearity, encouraging contemplation and acceptance of ambiguity.
Through Time and Space challenges us to consider our place in the continuum of existence. How do we navigate our own stories through the vastness of time? What connections do we have to those who came before us and those yet to come? Kowalski's works do not provide answers, but raise questions.
The artist engages in a silent dialogue with the old masters by producing his own paints. He uses natural earth pigments, magmatic rocks as well as powdered oxidized metals. This labor-intensive process translates into energy that emanates from the paintings. The authenticity and strength of colors, the depth of matte finish, and the organic and diverse textures all contribute to the fact that we no longer see paint itself; we see a world, a world changing through time and space.
